HOW TO AVOID "EMOTIONAL BURNOUT"
1. When planning your working day, be sure to set aside time for emotional rest. For example, you can spend your lunch break in a nearby park or simply outdoors, changing your work surroundings, which is good for your health. A "journey" home or to work in a crowded minibus can be replaced with a walk.
2. Plan your working week and month by setting short-term and long-term work goals. This will let you focus on the necessary actions, increase your motivation and reduce unnecessary emotional costs. It is worth singling out the tasks and goals that are a priority or that can be completed fastest.
3. It is worth putting your own thoughts and wishes in order. Do not grab at everything at once in pursuit of an illusory result or your manager's praise. Set aside time to meet friends, to relax with a loved one outside your usual daily routine, and to attend cultural or sports events. It is good to spend weekends outdoors, especially in the warm season, avoiding passive time on the sofa in front of the television.
4. Professional development and self-improvement will help (exchanging professional information with colleagues, which gives a sense of a world wider than the one inside a single team – training courses, conferences, etc.). Besides the purely professional benefit, such events are meant to strengthen connections with colleagues and encourage active communication in new settings, which distracts from the everyday routine.
5. A banal but important part of fighting stress is staying in good physical shape. There is a close connection between the state of the body and the mind: poor nutrition and the abuse of alcohol and tobacco intensify the signs of burnout syndrome. Under no circumstances should you neglect a full night's sleep, because this is the only time when the brain rests and stores up energy for the next day ;
6. A new hobby can not only add enjoyment to life, but also help you feel more motivated. Hours devoted to, for example, embroidery will save you days spent searching for emotional comfort.
7. A categorical rule should be to stop working at home and discussing work problems outside work.
8. Finally, take a vacation and simply forget about problems at work.
Remember: "This is your life, and you only live once!"
