Inclusive Education

We help children with special needs to study fully in a shared educational environment.

What is inclusive education?

Inclusive education enables all students to take full part in the life of the kindergarten or school community, in both preschool and school life.

Inclusive learning – is a system of educational services based on the principle of ensuring children's fundamental right to education and the right to study at their place of residence, which provides for learning in a general education institution.

Inclusive education – is a process in which the school seeks to respond to the needs of all students and makes the necessary changes to the curriculum and resources in order to ensure equal opportunities.

BENEFITS OF INCLUSIVE EDUCATION:

  • Children study together in an ordinary school.
  • The child's motor, language, social and emotional development improves.
  • Children have the opportunity to live together with their parents.
  • New skills and abilities are acquired functionally.
  • Teaching is oriented towards the abilities and interests of the children.
  • Children have the opportunity to build friendly relationships with their peers.
  • Children with special needs receive an effective education so that they can live a full life.

Benefits for children without special needs:

  • they learn to accept human differences naturally and with tolerance;
  • they learn to build and maintain friendly relationships with people who are different from them;
  • they learn cooperation;
  • they learn to behave in unconventional ways, to be resourceful, and to show compassion for others.

Benefits for families:

  • Parents receive information about typical and atypical child development.
  • Families receive support from other parents.
  • Parents take an active part in setting learning goals and tasks for their children.
  • All parents become part of the school community.

Benefits for teachers and other specialists:

  • Teachers of inclusive classes better understand the individual characteristics of students.
  • Teachers master a variety of teaching methods, which helps them effectively support children's development with respect to their individuality.
  • Specialists (medical staff, special education teachers and other professionals) learn to work as a team.

Inclusion in our school means bringing out the best in every student.

As of 01.09.2026, our school has 22 inclusive classes, in which 32 students with special educational needs study.

They work with:

– 22 teacher's assistants;

– 2 practical psychologists;

– 6 developmental correction specialists who are skilled in working with children with special educational needs (a speech therapist, a defectologist, a rehabilitation teacher and psychologists).

Our school has created all the conditions for the education and development of children:

provision of the necessary teaching and methodological aids, visual and didactic materials and individual technical learning tools;

a practical psychologist's office; a resource room for psychological relaxation, divided into two zones – a learning zone and a play zone; a table with a mirror for speech therapy sessions; a children's kitchen for social and daily living orientation classes, with the corresponding corrective and handout equipment; and a Swedish wall for physical therapy exercise classes.

Resource Room

With charitable funds from Flex LLC and with the support of the Mukachevo City Council, a resource room for children with special educational needs has been opened at the school.

The resource room is used for psychological, pedagogical and corrective-developmental classes. The main purpose of the room is to create a comfortable space for organising the learning process of children with special educational needs.
